During the concert series, each of the performers in the past do an actual set of 3 or 4 songs for the crowds that gather. The songs are popular tunes and then a new one from an upcoming album or a favorite of the performer. In addition to this, the entertain has a one-on-one time with fans on a web exclusive portion of the show. This is where it is just about the fans and what they ask.

Anyone can ask a question to Carrie Underwood and see if she answers it. Not only is she known to interact with her fans personally, she is also know to genuinely care. If you want to ask her a question before the performance, the invite from Underwood would be a perfect opportunity.

Go to her web page on Facebook and type in your question. Remember to be short and ask something relevant to all the fans so it is more likely to be picked. Then sit back and enjoy the performance on July 30.

Underwood talked to The Salt Lake Tribune about her amazing year in a conference call with other Utah newspaper outlets.
How will you adapt your regular show to fit within the smaller time slot you have for Stadium of Fire? We’ve been on tour for the past several months, so it’s all about taking out the costume changes and stuff like that. But we’ll do all the songs that people will know and take out a few that people might not be as familiar with.

Do you enjoy performing outdoors? I actually have another concert to do on the Fourth of July. So after the Stadium of Fire, I’ll be jetting out and playing another show, another outdoor goodie. I love that. That’s one of the good things about summer. It’s all about the outdoor concerts because everybody is there to have a good time, and people are happy and excited and even though it’s probably hot and sticky and whatnot, there’s nothing like that.

How did winning Entertainer of the Year the first time affect your mindset for touring behind “Play On”? After last year, winning Entertainer [of the Year], we knew that this tour needed to [be] significantly stepped up. We wanted more, we wanted more lights, more toys, more things. I feel we really accomplished that. The second Entertainer of the Year was total icing on the cake. I could have died a happy woman. This one was amazing. It was keeping with what we’ve been doing and hoping that people enjoy it, and they seem to.

Randy Travis will perform with the Utah Symphony in August. This year, you won your third Grammy for a collaboration you did with Travis. Why him? I’ve always been a Randy Travis fan. I just remember watching him at awards shows when I was little and just hoping that he would win. I had tapes of his when I was growing up and he was always a fixture in my musical background. So when we were making the album, I wanted to have a cover song and I had a long list of just awesome songs that would be great to remake, to put my own spin on it. Nothing quite seemed perfect. So I was going through my iTunes one day and saw “I Told You So” on there and thought, “Oh my gosh, that can be sung by a girl,” and it really fit. The second the idea came out of my mouth, everyone was on it. … Through the whole process, of course I loved singing with Randy Travis, and I love singing the song every night on tour, but the best thing to come out of the whole situation is that I consider him a friend now.

This year, Stadium of Fire officials held a contest where Utahns were able to choose their headliner, and a majority picked you. How does that feel? That’s so awesome. … That’s a good way to give the power to the people. That’s really cool. It’s a really good feeling, too, when you go into a stadium show, a festival, that people really want to see you. They want you there. It’s a good feeling.

Is the Fourth of July special to you, and is anything special planned for this show? It is very special, because the Fourth of July is all about having fun outdoors and just enjoying our country and enjoying the things that are around us , so it does feel like it’s a really special thing. It’s such a huge celebration that I really look forward to, just everybody having a good time. As for special things, I don’t know if it’s been announced, [but there will be] something a little special that I’ll get to be a part of.

Fellow Idol alum Danny Gokey opened the show and was followed by Tim McGraw, Jason Aldean and Lady Antebellum. Carrie, who was “pitch-perfect” didn’t come on until around midnight, reports the Tennessean.
Carrie took a few minutes to talk to reporters and mentioned that fiance Mike Fisher is in charge of planning their honeymoon. “It’s a surprise. I have no clue where we are going, which is nice. I know it will be warm, that’s about it.”

Earlier in the day, more than 100 people packed into the small tent of the Sports Zone Stage to learn a line dance with Laura Bell Bundy, reports the CMAfest blog. The singer kept her cool in the heat as the shouted out, “Twist and twist, cross to the side, and roooolllll your hips” to the lively crowd of dancers.
