Carrie Underwood to make her film debut in “The Soul Searcher.” Can the girl from Oklahoma who made it in American Idol, and then turned super star of the music world, now make it in film? She’s going to give it a try in a movie called, “The Soul Searcher.” She will play a church youth leader in the movie. Her co-stars are Helen Hunt, Dennis Quaid, and Lorraine Nicholson. The movie is about a 19 year old surfer, Bethany Hamilton who lost her arm after a shark attack and not only survived but went back to surfing less than 10 months after the attack. Filming began this week in Hawaii, and we’ll see how Carrie Underwood makes the transition from Oklahoma country girl to super singer, to actress. Wow, talk about wearing many hats.
